I was recommended to trial this product a few months ago so I got in touch with the owner.
In terms of the criteria I set when selling something there won’t have been anything I sell that ticks less boxes.
These are expensive to buy and therefore expensive to sell.
They come from somewhere that’s 3 hours drive away.
Big sellers in Scotland haven’t chosen to sell them.
They don’t look like a log (it’s a big one this….more about that over the coming weeks)
But…….what they do have going for them is……..
They are brilliant.
They’re made from the collected sawdust of a very high end furniture maker using only the very finest English, Scottish and Welsh oak.
The moisture content is extremely low at 6%
They burn very hot and leave virtually no ash.
The maker has been working away on them in his spare time and after 10 years of making small improvements in his product and process I think he makes and sells the best briquette in the UK market. I think Woodlets make the best high volume mass produced briquette in the UK but this guy makes the best.
Did I mention they were brilliant?
Reassuringly expensive. The raw materials are expensive, the smallish low production line isn’t banging out the same numbers as the big players in this market so it’s not going to be possible for them to sell at the same price but I absolutely think they’re worth the money. £8.50 for one 11kg pack or £80 for 10. If they sell well I’ll look at higher volume sales down the line
Thank you
