I know, I know, nobody ever said firewood was cheap.  I've spent the last 2 years talking about only supplying products I'd be prepared to buy myself and now I've got a pallet of logs on here for £420.  On first glance this does look expensive but when you break it down as top quality hardwood goes this is good value.  I've not had a ready to burn hardwood offering on my site for over a year because I've not found a supply/supplier of British grown wood that I felt representing value for both you and I to buy.

It is estimated that around 70% of ready to burn hardwood in the UK originates from eastern Europe.  I'm not going to preach to anyone about what we should be doing but if you're not part of the solution you're part of the problem.  To that end I've made a commitment that I will only sell logs, briquettes, whisky staves that have come from our own shores.

I don't think it's necessary to import from 1000s of miles away on huge oil tankers because we have a very well regulated firewood industry on our doorstep.  It might be a little cheaper to import from abroad but I've taken the decision that I don't want to do it.

This crate has the equivalent of 2.7m3 of loose logs on it making the price per m3 £156 delivered.  I might be wrong but I don't think you'll find better at a much better price, maybe a tenner here or there but Im confident this is a good buy for my customers.

It is my lowest margin product by quite some distance.  That might improve a bit if sales volumes are good but regardless of that I truly believe people will buy this product again and again which is good for me and my business in the long run.

The mixture is Ash, Oak, Birch and Alder and the logs come from in and around the Scottish Borders and the North East of England.
